Turning Client Data Into Better Decisions

Most advisory practices aren’t short on data.
They’re short on clarity.
Between AUM figures, age bands, household structures, and platform reports, it’s easy to default to familiar patterns, focusing on the biggest balances or the loudest clients. The result is reactive reviews and missed opportunities.
Seed helps advisors step back and use their data more intentionally.
Let’s consider this example of an advisor’s data:

A few observations from the data:
The total number of clients (260) is not the same as the number of households. The more relevant metric is households (120).
Keep the Pareto Principle in mind: roughly 10% of households (about 12 families) typically generate 90% of revenue.
The households with the highest AUM, and therefore the highest current revenue (often ages 60–79), are not automatically the most profitable segment.
Consider which households in their 40s and 50s are accumulating aggressively or building businesses today, they may become your most profitable relationships over the next decade.
By bringing client information into one clear view, Seed allows you to segment your client base in a way that supports better decisions and better conversations:
See the 10% of families driving profitability todayThese clients currently underpin your practice and benefit from consistent, structured engagement.
Figure out the 10% most likely to become highly profitable in the futureOften overlooked, these families may not yet have the largest balances, but they represent long-term growth and retention.
Then there’s always the 10% who need your help the most, regardless of profitabilityFamilies facing complexity, transition, or uncertainty, where good advice matters most.
This approach moves your focus away from gut feel and toward intention. It helps you plan meetings with purpose, allocate time more effectively, and tailor conversations to what truly matters to each client.
Seed doesn’t give you more data. It helps you use the data you already have.
